Note: This module does not come with straight header pins, please get it here and you might need soldering tools.
Are you looking for a Real Time Clock (RTC) IC that's Arduino compatible and can keep your system time counting and keeping, even when power is lost? Our Real Time Clock module featuring the popular DS1307 IC is just what you need!
This module comes equipped with a backup CR2032 battery holder and an additional EEPROM memory IC (AT24C32), offering 32 Kbit (8192 bytes) of CMOS EEPROM memory with I2C bus data transfer protocol. There's also a soldering pad included for adding a digital temperature sensor (DS18B20), connected via an I2C bus.
The optional DS18B20 temperature sensor uses single-bus technology to reduce external interference and improve measurement accuracy. It can convert the measured temperature directly into a serial digital signal for the microcontroller to process.
With its two-wire bidirectional serial bus (I2C), the DS1307 IC provides accurate information on seconds, minutes, hours, and more. It also includes a compensation function for leap years and AM/PM flag to determine the clock operation mode. Plus, the built-in power-sense circuit detects power down and has battery-switching functions for added peace of mind.
So if you're looking for a low-power Real Time Clock chip with 56 bytes of non-volatile RAM and a full BCD code clock and calendar, this RTC module is perfect for your electronic projects. With a 1.8V to 5V power supply, it's easy to integrate and use in a wide variety of applications.
