    Description

Power over Ethernet (PoE) Splitter is one of the useful accessories for your Raspberry Pi 4B or Raspberry Pi 400. A PoE splitter supplies power to non-PoE compatible devices by splitting power from data and feeding it to a separate input.

They work to connect any 802.3af-capable router to any Ethernet device, even if it doesn't natively support PoE! The splitter takes a unified PoE signal (data and power) from one RJ-45 cable, and then separates the data (Ethernet) and power (5 VDC regulated) into two different lines for non-PoE devices.

We've tested the splitter using Raspberry Pi 400 and it works nicely! You'll no longer need a power adapter. The power from Type-C output from the splitter is enough to power up your Pi board without any problem.

Note: The ethernet cable cannot be connected directly to the splitter. A PoE 48V 0.5A Adapter/Injector is necessary. You may get it separately.

However, if you are using a fast-speed gigabit injector, Raspberry Pi 4 Model B or Raspberry Pi 400 might need some tweaking to work. Is not difficult. To fix this, you'll need to write a single line command in your terminal:

sudo ethtool -s eth0 speed 100 duplex full autoneg on
