The NVIDIA® Jetson OrinTM Nano Developer Kit sets a new standard for creating entry-level AI-powered robots, smart drones, and intelligent cameras, and simplifies getting started with the Jetson Orin Nano series. Compact design, lots of connectors, and up to 40 TOPS of AI performance make this developer kit perfect for transforming your visionary concepts into reality. With up to 80X the performance of Jetson Nano B01, it can run all modern AI models, including transformer and advanced robotics models.

The developer kit comprises a Jetson Orin Nano 8GB module (Developer Version) and a reference carrier board that can accommodate all Orin Nano and Orin NX modules, providing an ideal platform for prototyping your next-gen edge AI product. The Jetson Orin Nano 8GB module features an NVIDIA AmpereTM GPU and a 6-core ARM CPU, enabling multiple concurrent AI application pipelines and high-performance inference. The carrier board boasts a wide array of connectors, including two MIPI CSI connectors supporting camera modules with up to 4-lanes, allowing higher resolution and frame rate than before.

The prior-generation Jetson Nano Developer Kit made AI accessible to everyone. The new Jetson Orin Nano Developer Kit raises the bar for entry-level AI development with 80x the performance, enabling developers to run any kind of modern AI model, including Transformer and advanced robotics models. Not only does it provide a huge boost in AI performance over the prior-generation Jetson Nano, but Jetson Orin Nano also provides 5.4x the CUDA compute, 6.6x the CPU performance, and 50x the performance per watt.

Jetson runs the NVIDIA AI software stack, with available use-case-specific application frameworks, including NVIDIA IsaacTM for robotics, DeepStream for vision AI, and Riva for conversational AI. You can save significant time with NVIDIA OmniverseTM Replicator for synthetic data generation (SDG), and with NVIDIA TAO Toolkit for fine-tuning pre-trained AI models from the NGCTM catalog.

Ecosystem partners offer additional AI and system software, developer tools, and custom software development. They can also help with cameras and other sensors, as well as carrier boards and design services for your product.

Jetson Orin modules are unmatched in performance and efficiency for robots and other autonomous machines and give you the flexibility to create the next generation of AI solutions with the latest NVIDIA technology. Together with the world-standard NVIDIA AI software stack and an ecosystem of services and products, your road to market has never been faster.

MakerDisk 128GB MicroSD Card with JetPack 5.1.2 for Jetson Orin Nano

No eMMC is included on the Nvidia Jetson Orin Nano Module, this provides flexibility for the developer to choose the preferred storage size and type, for example, microSD card or NVMe SSD.  Nvidia recommends booting from a microSD card with JetPack 5.1.2 OS. You can download the image and load it into a microSD card. However, the JetPack 5.1.2 image itself is >7GB, you will need high-speed Internet to download it, and another hour or so just to load and verify the image into a microSD card. We have done the hard work. In the Basic Kit with microSD card, we have included a MakerDisk 128GB, Class 10, U3, V30, UHS-1, A1 grade microSD card, preloaded JetPack 5.1.2, ready to boot up on the Jetson Orin Nano Dev board. Please DO NOT format it if you intend to use it with the board.

Note: Once the microSD card with JetPack is bootup (1st boot), please proceed with the initial setup which includes: Review and accepting NVIDIA Jetson Software EULA, selecting system language, keyboard layout, and time zone, connecting to a wireless network (optional), create a username, password, and computer name, and login. Then you can shut it down properly. Please DO NOT power off without proper shutdown from the Desktop. It will corrupt the JetPack image in the microSD card.

If you are using the included 128GB microSD card with preloaded JetPack, please follow Getting Started Guide (official from Nvidia), starting from "Setup and First Boot". Please DO NOT format this microSD Card, it is preloaded with JetPack 5.1.2.

It takes only ~71 seconds (1 minute & 11 seconds) to boot into the login screen. You will need to do some initial setup for the 1st boot.

Note: It is normal for the screen to go blank and the fan stops during the boot-up process.

In case you intend to use any other version of JetPack or OS, we also include a cute little USB microSD Card Reader and Writer together as a free gift in the basic kit with a microSD card! It's compact, lightweight and it's wicked fast. Simply slide the microSD card into the edge, flip it over, and plug it into your computer's USB port. No driver is required, it shows up as a standard 'Mass Storage' device under any OS. Download the BalenaEtcher or Raspberry Pi Imager to load the JetPack into the microSD card.

JetPack 5.1.2

JetPack 5.1.2 is the latest production release by Nvidia and supports all Jetson Orin modules.

DP to HDMI Adapter that Works Out of the BOX

Since the Jetson Orin Nano Dev Kit comes with ONLY a Display Port (DP) 1.2 WITHOUT HDMI port, we have also included (in the Basic Kit option) a DisplayPort to Standard HDMI A/Female Adapter for your convenience. Of course, you will need a standard HDMI cable to use it with an HDMI LCD monitor. We have tested this DP to HDMI adapter with the Jetson Orin Nano Dev kit, and it works perfectly!

Note: We have tested many DP (Display Port) adapters and so far this model WORKS with Jetson Orin Nano Dev Kit and Jetson AGX Orin Dev Kit.

Power Cord - UK Plug that Matches the PSU

There is a 19VDC Power Supply Unit (PSU) included to power the Jetson Orin Nano 8GB Dev Kit. However, the power cords included are a 3-pin US plug (Type B), and a 3-pin rounded plug (Type D). There is NO UK Plug power cord included in the original package. Not to worry, we have included a UK-Plug (Type G) power cord that matches the power adapter in the basic kits for you to get started right out of the box :).

Other Accessories that You May Need:

As the Jetson Orin Nano Dev Kit is a newly-launched kit, we are testing and verifying the compatibilities of accessories. So far here are the results:
