CM4 Sensing is an industrial computer designed for IoT & Data Acquisition applications based on Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (CM4 for short). It makes full use of the structural flexibility of CM4 to solve the heat dissipation problem of the CPU, wireless module, and PMU. The external antenna improves the reliability of wireless communication.
The system can be configured into 8GB/4GB/2GB/1GB RAM and 32GB/16GB/8GB eMMC, 2.4/5.8GHz dual-band WiFi, and Bluetooth (optional) according to the different applications, and it supports an external antenna. This particular CM4 Sensing comes with CM4, built-in wireless, 2GB RAM, with 8GB or 16GB eMMC (Depending on your option).
Dual Storage
For application scenarios that require large data storage capacity, the user can use eMMC (8GB or 16GB depending on your option) to install the operating system and store the application data. At the same time, the user can use a microSD card to store large user data, compare to built-in eMMC memory, microSD card offer larger capacity and their cost is more effective.
Ready with Industry Interface Ports
CM4 Sensing provides an option to have a 4G/LTE module. There is a Mini PCIe slot on the PCB that allows the user to install a compatible 4G module. Besides, there is an external antenna mounting hole on the casing for a 4G antenna in the case user decides to add a 4G module. The CM4 Sensing comes with:
- 4 x RS485
- 1 x RS232
- 1 x CAN (Controller Area Network)
- 1 x Gigabit Ethernet port
- 1 x Alarm buzzer
- 1 x Coin cell holder, CR1220 battery-powered real-time clock (RTC).
Note: CR1220 is NOT pre-installed due to shipping/courier restrictions. Manual installation of CR1220 is necessary.
Besides the industry interface, the CM4 Sensing also comes with:
- 1 x DSI interface: fully compatible with Raspberry Pi 4 Model B and supports Raspberry Pi's official 7" touch display.
- 1 x 5V/1.5A power output: Able to provide the power for Pi Display
- 1 x standard (full-size) HDMI Port: Capable to output up to 4K HD video
- 2 x USB2.0 Type-A port
- 1 x USB2.0 micro B port: To be used for updating the OS image into CM4's eMMC. This micro-B port is populated on the top layer of the PCB, the user needs to open the enclosure to access it.
- 1 x DC Barrel Jack (5.5 x 2.1mm): Supports +9V~18VDC power input,
- 1 x 103 x 73 x 5mm aluminum heatsink: Provides excellent passive cooling performance for the CPU, wireless module, and PMU, and the whole system can work reliably in a high-temperature environment.
- 4 x M2.5 screw holes: Reserved at the bottom of the CM4 Sensing enclosure, which is convenient for users to install the CM4 Sensing onto other equipment
- 1 x DIN rail mounting socket: Ready to be installed onto the DIL rail
With the huge aluminum as fanless passive cooling, the CM4 Sensing is able to work reliably at ambient temperatures of -25ºC to 60ºC.
